The collectors' edition for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has been delayed to a late 2026 delivery window between October to December, Limited Run Games disclosed today in a customer email blast.

The delay was driven by a quality review under new leadership, which apparently took a look at the statue and decided things weren't where they needed to be.

We need to update the delivery window for this release. The new arrival estimate is Oct-Dec 2026. We know this is a big move, and we also know it is disappointing. Here's the straight story on why.

As part of the new leadership reset at Limited Run Games, we're going through projects one-by-one with a higher bar for both quality and communication - and that work takes time. In this case, as we got deeper into final production readiness, it became clear we were heading toward a choice: ship on the original timeline with compromises, or pause and do it right. We chose to pause and do it right, and we're telling you as soon as that call was made, The main driver is the statue. It has to be redone. Not patched, Not "close enough." Redone properly.

It's the second Sonic collectors' edition to hit this kind of snag at Limited Run, with the Sonic x Shadow Generations version affected by production issues.
