# SEGA rolls out mobile updates ahead of third Sonic film

New characters, challenges and features inspired by Paramount's upcoming *Sonic the Hedgehog 3* film will be arriving to three of SEGA HARDlight's mobile games this month: *Sonic Dream Team*, *Sonic Dash*, and *Sonic Forces Mobile*.

**Why it matters:** The updates aim to build hype for the latest installment in the Sonic film franchise while adding new content to the series' popular mobile games.

## *Sonic Forces* Mobile

**New character:** Players can collect Challenger cards to unlock the new movie form of Shadow the Hedgehog from 12 to 26 Dec 2024.

- Movie Shadow will arrive with a speed stat of 10/10, an acceleration stat of 9/10, and a strength stat of 6/10.
- Items include Chaos Spear, Meteor Crash, and Chaos Control.
- Bonus mission includes cards for the movie variants of Sonic, Knuckles and Tails, from 12 to 20 Dec 2024.

**New stages:** Race through Metro City Zone, featuring three brand new tracks.

## *Sonic Dream Team*

**New character:** Shadow becomes a playable character on 18 Dec 2024 with unique abilities, including Chaos Control and Chaos Shift. 

- New powers like Quick Grind and Perfect Boost are available for all characters, with Shadow-exclusive moves added.

## *Sonic Dash*

- Collect cards to unlock Movie Sonic and Movie Shadow.
- Daily collectibles offer extra rewards.
- The Apple Arcade-exclusive *Sonic Dash Plus* will get Shadow-themed updates in January 2025.

**What's next:** *Dash* and *Forces* are available on the App Store and Google Play. *Dream Team* remains exclusive to Apple Arcade across Apple mobile, television, and virtual reality devices.
