Paramount's *Sonic the Hedgehog 3* may have slipped in its sixth weekend at the domestic box office, but it continues to rack up major milestones globally.

- The third film earned $5.5 million, bringing its domestic total to $226 million.
- Internationally, the film solidified its position as the highest-grossing *Sonic* installment worldwide with a $220.5 million overseas total.

**The intrigue:** It also became the third highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time, recently overtaking *Warcraft* (at $438 million) and closing in on *Pokémon: Detective Pikachu* (at $450 million), which it is expected to surpass soon.
