Paramount's *Sonic the Hedgehog 3* is nearing the $500 million worldwide milestone, as *Mufasa: The Lion King* begins to outpace the blue blur domestically. 

**By the numbers:** The third film grossed $1.75 million domestically in its eighth weekend, bringing its home total to $233 million.

- Internationally, the film pulled $4.5 million over the weekend, pushing its overseas total to $233 million.
- *Sonic 3* is now at a worldwide total of $472 million.

**Meanwhile,** *Mufasa* had a stronger domestic performance with $4 million, lifting its domestic total to $235 million. 

- Disney's film continues to outpace Sonic internationally, adding $8.5 million this weekend for an international total of $435 million.
- That's a worldwide total of $671 million.
