Sonic the Hedgehog creative officer Takashi Iizuka emphasized the importance of making Sonic games accessible across a range of gaming platforms, including older and less powerful hardware, following September's announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro.

- "Even though the PS5 Pro is coming out, or new innovations or technology are coming out, we feel that it is important to support with the lower spec consoles and let many of the users keep playing Sonic," Iizuka said.
- The officer also acknowledged the PS5 Pro's price tag of $700 USD. It's "really expensive," he told IGN, but "it might be worth it."
