SEGA today announced The Chaotix Casefiles, a narrative podcast series set in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe.
Why it matters: It's the first podcast from the franchise ahead of its 35th anniversary in June.
What we know: The show follows Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee as they work a new mystery.
- In a statement to Tails' Channel, SEGA says the series blends "noir-inspired intrigue with Sonic's signature energy."
- No word yet about the episode count, length, or release schedule.
Behind the scenes: The official video game voice cast is back. Roger Craig Smith voices Sonic, Keith Silverstein plays Vector, Matthew Mercer is Espio, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey voices Charmy.
- Ian Jones-Quartey, known for OK KO: Let's Be Heroes and Steven Universe, is directing. Dan Jolley is the lead writer, with SEGA's Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley also contributing.
- Charlie Rosen of the 8-Bit Big Band composed the music, with sound design by Fred Greenhalgh and Dan Brunelle, both of podcast distributor Realm.
The big picture: Realm is distributing the series globally across all major podcast platforms.
- The company will also represent the show for advertising sales.
What's next: The Chaotix Casefiles will be available everywhere podcasts are offered starting 27 Jan 2026.
